Being Proactive Is Key for Workplace Safety

The month of July has just begun and Synergy Comp encourages you to be proactive!

Being proactive means “anticipating problems, seeking new solutions and doing your best.”

To become proactive, safety must be an active part of everyone’s job.  A strong safety culture includes proper leadership in which the managers or supervisors should engage all employees in activities that will reduce the likelihood of injuries from taking place.

All employees should be trained and educated on the dangers in their workplace. And, all employees, regardless of position, should feel empowered to have the authority to present any and all workplace hazards and safety concerns.

Having a proactive mindset can lower costs, save time and most of all increase workplace safety.

These 5 tips can give you a head-start to becoming proactive about safety:

  1. Become a leader in safety
  2. Train and educate
  3. Conduct workplace inspections
  4. Think outside the box
  5. Learn from mistakes

It ‘s never too late to improve your safety culture! Take control this month to train and educate yourself and fellow employees about hazards in the workplace.
